Because most of the critics slammed this movie, I went to gape it expecting a lot less than I got. I idea the movie was fine: rich place, obliging pacing, intense drama, and solid performances by all of the actors. Ashton Kutcher, who has a immense cloak presence (I’ve never seen him before; don’t sight remarkable TV) played the role with objective the moral degrees of intensity, bewiderment, and desperation. Amy Smart’s performance fluctuated convincingly from steady lover, to air-headed ingenue, to hardened prostitute, etc. And I loved the scheme the other supporting characters changed personalities with time shifts.
The kid actors looked very mighty like their adult counterparts, especially in Kutcher’s case, so that the constant transitions between pre-teen, teen, and adult versions of the characters were very detached… this was essential to hold the audience suspending its disbelief.
The screenplay delved into taboo subjects fearlessly, which I consider added to its richness and made it all the more riveting.

Most of the critics didn’t like this film, and I suspect a lot of that has to do with their personal disdain of Kutcher. That’s neither relevant nor pretty. Roger Ebert tried to be shapely in his review and did say some righteous things about the movie, but he was bothered a lot by the inexplicably artistic quality of the drawing and the note-lettering penned by the Kutcher character. I agree that this high quality this was kind of curious, since the character was never portrayed as an artist, but I consider that’s a minor detail that detracted only slightly from one’s enjoyment of the movie. Overall, Butterfly Do was a handsomely-filmed, “sci-fi” movie that didn’t rely on special effects to acquire my interest and entertain me. It was a astronomical scoot. What more could the critics want?
While “The Butterfly Execute” wasn’t critically acclaimed or well loved by everyone, I concept it was a glorious friendly movie when I first saw it at the theatres. It was a dismal and completely disturbing film that made me want to recognize away at times, but at the same time I was very intrigued. My only scrape was the ending. I opinion it really contradicted the whole theme of the movie, but I always suspected that the so-called “contented ending” was forced upon since the movie is so sunless and hard to explore that they understanding there was no method people would like it if a more darker and depressing ending were added. Well, now you collect to spy the director’s slash of the film that’s on this very DVD, which offers the noble ending.
Evan had bad blackouts when he was itsy-bitsy, very worthy like his father. He would blackout during awful situations and not remember anything. That’s when it was suggested to him that he hold a journal to examine if he could remember what happened during those blackouts. When Evan is all grown up, calm disquieted by his abominable past that had blanketed him and his friends, he discovers that he can relive those memories when he reads his entries. He can understanding it like a movie and finally watch what had happened during his blackouts. Not only that, but he has the power to even alter those moments. Sure to fix the pasts of him and his friends, he relives those memories and tries to fix them so they will all have a better future. However, when he tries to change one thing, it leads to devastating results that he could have never foreseen. As the shroud says, “Change one thing… change EVERYTHING.”
I found this film to be very tantalizing and complex, even though I felt that the film itself was not perfect. The movie is very hard to leer at times, so it’s not recommended for those who don’t like being skittish or who are extremely sensitive to such matters. I believe it has a sparkling storyline and gargantuan acting. Hold it or not, Ashton Kutcher is able to act in a serious role. I didn’t even watch him at first, but he really pulled it off. He was able to convince me that he was in fact “Evan,” as he played the role with determination and force.

As I said in the beginning, my major spot with the movie had always been the ending. While it was gratified and nice to survey that things worked out considering the absolute hell this movie can set you through, I aloof found the ending to be contradictive and a “cop-out.” Now, all of that’s changed as you are given the choice to either observe the theatrical version, OR the director’s slit. The director’s slice offers a few more extra minutes that adds more substance to the narrative (including an intriguing regain) and a more appropriate ending. If you were to ask me which version is better, I’d say that the director’s nick is without any hesitation The current ending does a better job of fitting in with the theme of the movie and doesn’t contradict the film as the theatrical ending does. The DVD also offers “infinifilm” features that give you a deeper insight to the movie itself. Extras included are commentary, documentaries, storyboard galleries and great more. I must say that the film looks stout, and also sounds amazing as well.
“The Butterfly Do” proves to be an even stronger film with the director’s chop version, even if it’s collected not a perfect movie. If you’re looking for something a puny more darker and horrible than your regular picks, then this is something to assume. Impartial remember that this movie does not let you off easy. It’s brutal and extremely disturbing. If you’re mettlesome and believe you can handle it, then remove this up and prepare for one unforgettable and chilling sail. -Michael Crane

When I bought the first two volumes of Code Geass: Lelouch Of The Rebellion, it was entirely on a whim. I had heard such tremendous things about the series, and I understanding I would give it a try. The risk, as it turned out, was aboslutely worth the cost, as I became eneveloped in an extraordinary world that combined science fiction, fantasy, and political drama in ways I had never seen before.

Now here I am at the last volume, and I calm want so more.
Frst, in regards to the present itself, the last two discs do not disappoint. The indicate is always driven by its characters, whether they are in the thick of battle or attending school. This is notable, as too many works these days – be they anime or film, from any nation – tend to forget how considerable the characters are, and instead forcus on plots twists and frigid visuals. Code Geass delivers these as well, but never loses explore of the people.

People who have not watched to the waste yet should know that the series ends with one of the biggest cliffhangars in the history of visual media. Normally, this would be considered a cardinal sin, but there is a second season, so remember that as the credits roll.
Now for the box dwelling. I normally don’t splurge on anime DVDs like this, but with Code Geass, it is worth the extra cash. The discs themselves would be worth the cost alone. Bandai has packed them with special features the likes of which are rare for anime.
-First are the Record Dramas, short segments intended to possess in gaps within the series, and occasionally provide some great needed levity. They are available in both languages.
-Next are the Episode Commentaries from the fresh Japanese cast and crew. Admittedly, the commentators have a tendency to ramble about things that have nothing to do with the series, but they are having so considerable fun you tend not to care.
-We are also treated tointerviews with the four lead dub actors, which is also quite titillating. For the report, the dub of the series is exceptionally well done, so these interviews are a nice touch.
-Beyond that, we secure the standard trailers and spruce opening/closing animation.
With the discs, however, near extra cramped treats. First is the third volume of the Sound Episodes, which are like the characterize dramas without the visual. They are performed by the dub cast, who, as mentioned earlier, do an exceptional job.
Next is the second volume of the series’ soundtrack [the first volume of which is included with Portion 1 of the series]. As far as soundtracks go, I definitely recommend these CDs, as the music is also a driving force in the series.
Then, there is the first volume of the manga Code Geass: Suzaku Of The Counterattack, a reinterpretation that shifts the focus to Suzaku, and puts a superhero hurry on the sage [Lancelot is an Iron Man-style suit rather than a mecha]. This is the followup to the last two boxes containing the official Code Geass manga adaptation. While I abominate the other Geass manga, SOTC is a different chronicle, and therefor certainly worth a leer.
Overall, this series is one of the best out there. Now, if only Bandai would speed up and release R2 so I can gain out what happened next…
This is the sage cliffhanger conclusion to season 1 of Code Geass.
If you are a fan of the series, you will not be dissappointed in the final volume of season 1.
This special edition collection comes with all the extras of the previous special editions, but the manga book that comes with it is actually a different one. It comes with Code Geass Suzaku of the Counterattack instead of Lelouch of the Rebellion manga. Collected kindly but I was slightly dissappointed. The music episodes are also really nice to hear in addition to watching the episodes.

I agree with most of Michael Moore’s politics and relish that he has helped bring many significant issues into the mainstream. He’s done a ton to raise awareness. That said I also judge the film “Manufacturing Dissent” is exquisite and has very legitimate criticisms of Moore’s tactics. I would hope that Michael Moore would welcome the criticism. Many people will undoubtedly have a strong conception about this film without watching it honest as most conservatives have very strong opinions about Moore without ever having watched his films (Like the previous reviewer “Bob K” who thinks this is actually a Michael Moore film) . I say it is wiser to preserve mute until you can announce intelligently on a subject.

The one thing the film is lacking is context. Moore is celebrated because the mainstream media feeds off highly polarized simplistic politics. So to talk about Michael Moore with out talking about the mainstream media and its manufactured culture is like making a film about a football player without mentioning the football game.
Watch this film but also spy Michael Moore’s films. For all the criticisms, Moore’s films are worth watching but with the concept he sometimes plays tricks to produce his point. Even radiant about his tricks I unexcited have that most his points are suitable.
First off, I am very sympathetic to Michael Moore’s ideas. I would esteem to inspect more gun control in the US, the Iraq war arrive to an demolish, and health care for everyone. I be pleased his movies for their entertainment value and because they champion causes I possess in. His methods, however, are disturbing. How can you trust anything the guy says shimmering the following: The premise of “Roger & Me” was Moore’s quest and ultimate failure to pick up an interview with Roger Smith. Turns out he did interview Roger Smith but decided to hide it up since it didn’t design for a compelling movie.

Manufacturing Dissent is a ravishing documentary. The interviews are with people from both sides. Some treasure Michael Moore, some abhor him. But the indispensable thing is that a lot of the people interviewed worked with Michael Moore. The movie reveals that Moore is not necessarily in search of the truth, unbiased in search of a map to validate things he already believes to be good. This movie is substantial for anyone who values vivid honesty.
See Manufacturing Dissent for its recount, because its production quality will not stamp.

Miike does it again! Fair when you deem you’ve got this guy figured out, he does something different and somehow makes it his maintain! THE Big YOKAI WAR is a fantasy movie in the same vein as NEVERENDING Sage, Black CRYSTAL, ALICE IN WONDERLAND, LOTR, and LABYRINTH. However, by sucessfully intergrating japanese folklore and contemparary stylization, something original and new is created. While there is no overly didactic messages, elements of anti-consumerism and envioronmentalism are hinted at. Essentially the themes are as simple as believing in yourself and the magic of childhood.

Tadashi Ino is an introspective kid living with his mother at his grandpa’s house after his parents divorce. When he is bitten by a puppet dragon (a kirin) at a festival, he is told by the local kids that he is now the Kirin Rider. Takashi takes the duty seriously as it becomes more evident thoughout the film that this folklore is proper! Soon enough this kid (who’s a very qualified actor, by the device) is up to his chin in monsters and adventure! He teams up with a motley crew of spooks and weirdos (including the rockstar of yokai, the KAPPA), gets an awesome sword, fights robots, and saves Tokyo from the forces of contemptible! What more could you ask for?
One of the greatest things about the film is the inventiveness of the yokai costumes themselves. All kinds of masks, suits, makeup, puppets, prosthetics, and digital effects are broken-down to gain an anecdote rouges gallery of monsters. Miike always works with titanic physical effects artists and designers. Also, Miike taps his stout pool of weak actors like Kenichi Endo and Renji Ishibashi to play some of the yokai. He creates a sort of yokai theatre that both children and adults can obtain lost in. There are a few diminutive scenes that might be a tiny on the scary side for very itsy-bitsy kids, but overall this is a very radiant and light hearted fantasy film. I’m satisfied this genre is making a comeback (MIRRORMASK comes to mind), and I’m gratified to peek that Takashi Miike dove correct in there and gave us this gem!
i give this movie two thumbs up! It’s a narrative about the creatures of Japan’s folklore. (And it wasn’t anything like the “Never Ending Record”) The only arrangement “it was like a kid’s movie”, or the Never Ending Record, is because the main character is a child… i acquire this movie is for you if you purchase any interest in Japan’s culture.

Finally season 3 is out! I’ve played the tartar sauce out of the first two seasons and it is nice to have some unusual episodes on DVD even though most of these I’ve seen numerous times on television. This DVD plot is noteworthy more compact than the other two with streamline cases but does not sacrifice the wintry artwork. I like the rustic accomplish of the case covers with the woodwork of the Krusty Krab. It also takes up far less room than the elephantine season 1 and 2 sets. And, for those disappointed with not getting Encourage WANTED (the pilot episode) with season 1, it is offered here as a bonus on disc 3. Here are the season 3 episodes:
Disc 1: The Algae’s Always Greener: Plankton uses his advanced technological creation to trade lives with Mr. Krabs (complete with shirts and pants) and discovers that being the father of Pearl and owning a business that employs SpongeBob may not be all it’s cracked up to be.
SpongeBob on Duty: White stuff on SpongeBob’s nose makes Larry the Lobster mistake him for a fellow lifeguard. One problem: SpongeBob can’t swim (???? ) Anyone else rep something curious about this episode?
Club SpongeBob: I’ve seen this expose so many times on TV, I’m already sick of it. Anyway, SpongeBob, Squidward, and Patrick accept themselves lost in the middle of nowhere with only a magic conch shell to guide them.
My Dazzling Seahorse: SB befriends a seahorse who threatens his job by eating everything in notice at the Krusty Krab.
Just One Bite: One of my favorites! Squidward is the only one who can resist a krabby patty, until he tastes one. He then becomes addicted and even fantasizes about marrying one! Hilarious!
The Bully: Flats the Flounder is the modern student and decides to kick SB’s butt.
Nasty Patty: Mrs. Krabs and SB concoct the most vile krabby patty for who they believe is a untrue health inspector. Reminds me of a Fawlty Towers ep.
Idiot Box: Squidward is skeptical that SB and Patrick can turn an ordinary cardboard box into an entertainment center through their imaginations.
Mermaidman and Barnacle Boy IV: SB gets believe of MM’s utility belt and chaos ensues. “Oh boy! A squidward action figure!”
Doing Time: One of the craziest episodes. SB creates a wave of destruction (and cranberry juice) during his boating lesson and Mrs. Puff is arrested. SB and Patrick space out to shatter her out of the pen.
Snowball Effect: Squidward takes a game of snowball war a bit too seriously.
One Krab’s Trash: Mr. Krabs sells SB a soda drinking hat and then is desperate to pick up it assist when he finds out how considerable it’s worth (“AAAA! A floating shopping list!”) .
As Seen on TV: SB appears in a Krusty Krab commercial for a split second and believes he is Mr. Celebrity.
Can You Spare a Dime? : After being accused of stealing, Squidward quits his job and ends up penniless and on the streets. SB takes him in and Squid becomes accustomed with being waited on. This ep is the only time I’ve seen SB really lose it.
No Weenies Allowed: Another of my favorites. SB tries to net entrance into the Salty Spitoon where only the toughest sea creatures can join.
Squilliam Returns: Squidward pretends he owns a five-star restaurant (a re-vamped Krusty Krab) to trace his successful rival.
Disc 2:
Krab Borg: After watching a scary robot movie, SB is convinced Mr. Krabs is a robot.
Rock-A-Bye Bi-Valve: SB and Patrick select care of an orphaned baby scallop. Patrick proves he’s not the most devoted of fathers.
Wet Painters: SB and Patrick must paint the inside of Mr. Krab’s house without getting any paint on his wall hangings, particularly his first dollar. Trustworthy Patrick ep. Patrick and the candy machine is one of the funniest SB scenes ever.
Krusty Krab Training Video: What every Krusty Krab recent employee must stare. Will the secret krabby patty formula be revealed?
SponeBob’s House Party: SB gets a party planning kit and has every detail scheduled. Luckily for his party guests, he gets locked out of his house.
Chocolate With Nuts: Classic! SB and Patrick try to be entrepreneurs by selling chocolate bars door-to-door. The archaic “fishwife” and her mother are hilarious.
Mermaidman and Barnacleboy V: Barnacleboy is tired of being treated like a kid and joins the dusky side. Patrick, Sandy, SB, and Squid become not-so-super heroes.
New Student Starfish: Patrick comes to boating class with SB and gets SB in difficulty.
Clams: Mr. Krabs celebrates earning his millionth dollar by taking his accurate crew clam fishing.
SpongeBob B.C.: Prehistoric Spongegar, Patar, and Squog scrutinize fire. Double ep.
The Big Snail Race: SB forces Gary into a snail hurry with Squid’s pedigree snail Snelly.
Mid-Life Crustacean: “Like an passe has-been, Witness at you worn man, you’ve got multiple chins `cause you’re dilapidated.” Mr. Krabs yearns to feel young again. SB and Patrick may benefit him feel too young.
Born Again Krabs: A near-death experience causes Mr. Krabs to promise the Flying Dutchman he will no longer be a cheapskate or risk eternity in Davy Jones’ locker.
I Had an Accident: SB shatter his derriere and decides to consume all his time indoors. Comical until it gets to that tiresome gorilla bit.
Disc3:
Krabby Land: Mr. Krabs opens a crummy playground to lure children and their money to his restaurant.
The camping Episode: SB and Patrick go on a fearless camping move apt outside their houses. Squidward joins and is attacked by a sea absorb.
Missing Identity: SB loses his nametag and tries to accumulate dim-witted Patrick to hep him re-trace his steps.
Plankton’s Army: One of my favorites. Plankton gets his relatives (who are not quite at the same radiant level) to force Mr. Krabs to give him the krabby patty formula. The ingredients may be too unpleasant for him to handle.
Lost Episode (The Sponge Who Could Glide) : Double ep where SB dreams of flying with the jelly fish. Patchy the Pirate makes his always annoying appearance.
SpongeBob Meets the Strangler: SB has the Tattletale Strangler arrested for littering and the Strangler vows revenge.
Pranks A Lot: Patrick and SB consume invisible spray paint at the gag shop (they passed on the fallacious and steady vomit) and commence playing practical jokes.

…I objective don’t like this season.
I believe all 10 seasons on DVD, and I have always watched the entire place of discs for each season within a couple of weeks (if even that long!) of buying them but I fair can’t do that with season 10.
I’ve owned this for nearly two months and haven’t finished the second disc. I have no desire to… The acting seems dreadful, the narrative lines seem forced and I really don’t acquire the stories to be that spacious. Yes, there are aloof gracious moments in this season, but for the most fraction I consider it’s unprejudiced a mammoth yawn.
I treasure this present, don’t net me imperfect. I started watching help in 1995 and watched faithfully up until the series finale aired. I even cried intellectual it was over. But really, what I miss is the classic moments of Friends. And I have them all on DVD so I can view them any time I want, so it’s not ALL awful. Especially considering the note went waay downhill when they started toying with the plan of Joey and Rachel as a couple…
Ah, that’s impartial my concept! Already I feel guilty for stating it…
If you’re a fan and you absorb the other seasons, you’ve got to have this. The position wouldn’t be complete without it.

Not only does this movie raise the bar for fighting choreography, but it has so many other facets that form it a movie to be appreciated by movie lovers of all genre’s. I won’t dwell on the martial arts aspect. There have been plenty of reviews that have addressed the fact that this movie’s fight scenes ticket the greatest efforts of a martial arts wonder like Jackie Chan. There is no single martial arts talent in the West that can even compare to Hong Kong greats like Jackie. I would consume to point out that unlike most martial arts pictures ( and unfortunately this includes some of Jackie’s too) this recount has a quality chronicle and immense characters too. So remarkable so that I have seen people who can’t stand martial arts pictures really like this one. Viewers will be amazed by the martial arts ability while they laugh at the antics of Jackie playing the young naughty Fei Hung and Anita Mui playing his equally waggish step-mother. This movie truly represents the range of Jackie’s acting ability from humor, to penitant, to unbridled nettle. All in all, a movie to be appreciated by everyone.
I know some of you will disagree and say that Bruce Lee’s “Enter the Dragon”, or Jet Li’s “Fist of Story” was the best ever made but I would have to disagree. While Bruce Lee was the best Martial Artist ever, his movies were average in regards to their fight choreography. No one could ever touch him in his films. The fight choreography in “Drunken Master 2″ was improbable. It was realistic because there were almost no wire stunts eager and the fight scenes were extraordinary. The fight scene with Jackie and Liu Chia Liang (Lau Kar Leung) in the beginning was pure poetry in motion. The final fight scene was fifteen minutes of pure adrenaline pumping action. Recent choreography makes this movie a classic. Unlike Jet Li’s characterization of Wong Fei Hung, Jackie makes Fei Hung seem more human and vulnerable. Nobody could ever touch Jet Li in the “Once Upon a Time in China” series. Plus some of the moves unbiased gaze so ridiculously untrue. “Fist of Tale” is Jet’s best movie because it isn’t as untrue and he actually has to fight hard to accumulate. However, it is smooth only the second best film ever made. Not to criticize any other reviewer, but since when does the ability to do 540′s and 720′s and Butterfly kicks manufacture a martial art film gargantuan? I have been eager in Martial Arts for over a 20 years and would appreciate for someone to try to fight me using those kicks. While they leer worship in forms competition, they mean nothing in a actual tournment fight and even less in a genuine street fight. This film is without a doubt the best Jackie Chan film ever and the best ever made. (At least until Jackie and Jet team up to do a film as has been rumored)

Season 1 was taught and hideous magic. Season 2 tries to mix in a major recent storyline while collected carrying forward the lethal fallout from last season’s Arthur Frobisher case. Although teasing and confusing the viewer are fragment of the stylistic tone of this production, things got a dinky muddy with too many characters in mid-season. Collected, the Season Finale was so sparkling, it more than paid off its mid-season markers. Meanhile, the acting of the major characters – Rose Byrne deserves more credit, IMHO – continues to shine.
Glen Cessation and William Wound do their best in this mess of a second season. Whenever they are onscreen, they manage to design this overly plotted mess work. However, let anyone else onstage and I can barely figure out what is going on or care. The young woman attorney who works for End is a substantial fragment of the spot. Her character is playing all sides against the middle. I can barely withhold track of who she is plotting and conspiring with to undo Conclude from episode to episode. Harm is kind of the terrible guy here. I say kind of because his motivations are not all poor. Rather, he is hiding some vast secrets. I had no quandary following the arc of his epic line. I also had no pickle following the arc of Patty’s (Finish) sage line as she tries to gain her suit against Hurt’s worn corporate employer yet also has to deal with her son’s rebellion (seeing an older woman and refusing to go to college) and her husband’s infidelity. Even Arthur Frobisher’s (Ted Danson) reappearance is easy to follow, even humorous, as he turns his zeal to other interests. It is the whole record line between Patty (Terminate) and the young woman attorney which had me completely perplexed. It was also very annoying to have this jump assist and forth in time constantly. Seeing this on tv was one thing. Buying it on DVD? No plot. I really enjoyed season one and did not have any problems with it. If you haven’t seen it, that is the DVD to gain.

Movies that are based on books usually have to leave out or change scenes or characters. For the readers of the book leaving out the smallest character, or changing the draw somebody dresses could earn them leave the theatre very annoyed. Where the Red fern Grows, being a original based movie, had many scenes and characters left out. The movie itself was advantageous, but it was not apt to the book.
Where the Red Fern Grows did have capture out and change many characters for the movie to be a reasonable length. Sammy the cat was not included but that is understandable, for he did not have a very notable role in the book. The one thing that annoyed me and many other readers most was the change in the dogs. Passe Dan and Small Ann, Billy’s dogs, were to have shared a special bond with Billy and have distinctive personalities. Former Dan being aggressive and Petite Ann being clever were some traits that I did not behold in his movie. The two dogs wouldn’t hunt with any other person but Billy, and there was a very strong connection between him and his dogs. I do not feel that the dogs in this movie really cared for Billy and they were unbiased ordinary dogs that knew how to demolish raccoons.

In every book there are a few scenes that are added to give a obvious accomplish, or exaggerate a characters feeling. Naturally, directors leave these scenes out to do that movie toothsome rather that humdrum. Directors might change scenes too to befriend with the account line. But the change in his movie did not really serve the fable line at all. At the destroy of the enormous coon-hunting tournament Billy is supposed to find first prize. In this movie somebody else wins, but gives Billy the trophy and the prize money. Billy was supposed to have won but the directors probably left it out because it would be too definite. To me that is not a strong enough reason.
I know that movies have to change the memoir a cramped but this movie changed it a slight too noteworthy for my liking. If you are considering watching this movie please rent it, for you shouldn’t destroy your money on a movie you will spy once and then forget about.
This improbable book deserves noteworthy more than this movie. I was hoping for so worthy more, especially from Disney. It seemd to me that it was made fleet and on a tight budget…Coleman and Ned Beatty (sp? ) did their portion, but Dave Matthews? This tale did not deserve to have an actor if his inability playing the role of the young man’s father. As a young man who read this book over and over, and for a Father who was enraged about having his 6 year obsolete son stare this movie with him, I am very, very dissapointed.

If you only consume trued and legal tools and techniques then thats all you will perform ;
4. “Ample things” emerge – its like being under ground and hearing an underground river somewhere. Instead of directly looking for it, you do your routines and you sink in the time – the river finds you and takes you where it is going – you are the vehicle and it (for Philip the unique music) was always there ;

6. It is your life – surround yourself with a network of gifted very different individuals, and have regular quality time with them
7. It is your life – shape the quality of it by the environments you inhabit and depart between – for him its the buzz and life of NYC, coupled to the farm wilderness type enviornment he and Holly have on the Nova Scotia coast;
8. Learn and evolve from lots of very different teachers – from the harsh formal piano mistress in Paris to the loving advance faded by Ravi Shankar
When you do your craft you objective construct the quality time, be there, attend yourself with the habits and it comes. Have lots of projects on the go at any one time
9. The craft is “communicating” – for him its through music, painters its their art – the key is how to ingest this – for music being big at “listening”, visual arts through “seeing”. Passive – active going on here
10. It is your life – Bright between the Nova Scotia glide and NYC environments and live “young” – His distinguished younger wife Holly, and family life with kids under 5 – he turned seventy in 2005 but appears to live with the energy and drive of someone half his age
Oh, and yes, there is his music and projects sprinkled throughout it that really add to the tone and meaning of it…
This is an absolutely wonderful film.
It’s an intimate contemplate at the creative process and creative collaboration–and that includes the provocative interaction between the filmmaker and his subjects, among whom are some of the most accomplished people in contemporary art and cinema.
It is also a visually resplendent, beautifully edited film that includes among its subjects several Glass theatre pieces which are stunningly ravishing.
Best of all, Philip Glass turns out to be a wonderfully warm-hearted, endearing human being who has led, and continues to lead, a life that fully embraces all of life’s possibilities–at the age of 70.
